Bocchi the Rock! follows Hitori “Bocchi” Gotō, a painfully shy high schooler who dreams of playing rock music but struggles to make friends. When drummer Nijika Ijichi recognizes Bocchi’s hidden guitar skills and invites her to join a new band, Bocchi faces the challenge of stepping onto a real stage for the first time—transforming her quiet reverie into something shared.

At the heart of the story is Bocchi herself—an introvert whose determination shines through each stumble—alongside Nijika, the upbeat drummer; Ryō Yamada, the laid-back bassist; and Ikuyo Kita, the energetic vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Their journey is grounded in the warm, intimate setting of Starry Lounge, a small live-house run by Nijika’s sister Seika, where the four friends learn what it means to make music—and memories—together.
