Bocchi the Rock! is a Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Aki Hamazi. It follows Hitori “Bocchi” Gotō, a painfully shy high schooler who spends years practicing guitar alone in her closet and posting cover videos online in hopes of rock stardom. Her world shifts when classmate and drummer Nijika Ijichi recruits her to join Kessoku Band alongside bassist Ryō Yamada and vocalist Ikuyo Kita. The quartet rehearses and performs at Starry Lounge, a cozy live-house in Shimokitazawa run by Nijika’s sister Seika, forging friendships and confidence through music in this series by Aki Hamami.
